Eight Days in the Jungle without Water and Food A Slovenian tourist enchanted by the beauty of the Caribbean Island of Nevis is staying together with his family in a bungalow of the Nisbet hotel complex In order to explore more of the attractive surroundings he sets off early one morning to climb the seemingly harmless mountain of Nevis Peak Being an experienced climber Tony believes that he can do the climb in a few hours but soon finds that the mountain is covered with jungle and is full of traps dangerous hollows slippery rocks sharp and prickly plants His eight day ordeal begins with a tragic fall after which he is without any food or water stuck in a deep hollow and then later walking in circles unable to find a safe way out of his jungle maze He is exhausted lonely and puzzled at the fact that the rescuers are unable to find him however he never loses his will to survive his hopes to see his beloved family again and above all his faith in God Even in his most desperate moments Tony can still appreciate the wonders of nature the beauty of human existence and the mercy of God With these thoughts in his mind he finally finds a path that takes him away from the dangerous mountain and back to his life which he can now enjoy with a renewed faith
